Goldenstorm looked up from Berrykit as he heard Smoketail's yowl. "No." he gasped, without a second thought, he charged up to where Smoketail stood over Wolfstar. He sat down, his head hung low, "May StarClan guide your paws, strong warrior." he practically whispered, laying a gentle paw on the old leader's shoulder. He knew Wolfstar when he was just a kit, the kind tom had accepted him into his Clan. His death blew a hole in the golden warrior's stomach, it seemed impossible that the WindClan leader would die. Death was inevitable, but this was the worst time possible. WindClan needed Wolfstar now more than ever, now they would all look up to Smoketail. He just hoped the gray tom could handle the pressure.

Shadowstar watched in horror, Not another leader... But then his thought wondered, he knew Smoketail would be a good leader, if he excepted the path.

Fernbreeze bounded up to her mate, and licked his shoulder. She knew that he was worried. She looked at him, "If you become leader, you'll be a good one," She mewed reasurringly.

Littlestar was shocked!

Berrykit had followed Goldenstorm. "Goldenstorm, what'a happened?", she mewed. Then she saw the dead body of a cat. "Goldenstorm!!", she just yowled and hid under his paws again.

ooc: i'd love to see berrykit hiding under goldenstorm for real xD it's ultra cute!

Silverfang's eyes widened. He ran over to look at Wolfstar's body. He had been leader for as long as the warrior could remember. "It was his time Smoketail. He was an old cat." The silver tabby meowed, failing considerably at hiding his grief.

Otterkit looked over at Wolfstar's body. "Why's everyone so sad? He was old and didn't do his job any more!"

Redstar pushed and shoved through the crowd until he hung over Wolfstar. He narrowed his eyes at the Windclan leader's lifeless body. "It's a pity he left so soon. He has a place in Starclan now." Redstar twitched his nose. Some Windclan cat called Wolfstar old...Redstar knew very well the he was much older than Wolfstar. Does that mean he'll just flop over dead soon? Redstar made a little grunt of apology to the Windclan cats and left to sit beside the other leaders.

Goldenstorm ducked his head under his body, looking at Berrykit. "It was his time, Berrykit. StarClan had called him and he answered, it's the way of life." he mewed gently, trying to help the frightened kit understand death.

Berrykit looked up in Goldenstorm's face. "Are there other cats in StarClan, too? Friends of Wolfstar and family? So he won't be alone up there.", she mewed.

Goldenstorm smiled, "Everyone Wolfstar ever knew in the past is with him now, hunting in the lush forests of StarClan, where the prey is never short." his voice was just louder than a whisper, kits shouldn't have to witness death. It wasn't right.

Cedarkit tilted her head when there was a slight commotion in the cats. Her eyes widened and her fur bristled only slightly. What if she was in trouble for straying! Oh, StarClan! Let it be anything, but that! With her head ready to lower she pushed through the cats, going under legs and stuff and finally when she got somewhere she say Wolfstar lying on the ground or something like a lazy bum. Who slept at a Gathering? She eyed him with a frown, how unprofessional, but he looked kinda... different.

Cedarkit shrugged and walked over to the first cat she knew, Goldenstorm with his sister who was... spazing or something, and poked his leg with a gentle paw. "Goldenstorm?" the big, little kit asked, "Why is Wolfstar sleeping over there?" She tilted her head, her eyes filled with ignorance.

Otterkit blinked. "Cedarkit, he died. I don't see why anybody cares though. Cats die all the time. We're hunters; we witness death every time we get hungry. We kill ruthlessly, yet everyone gets so sad when a Clan cat dies. Its so pointless."

"Oooh," Cedarkit said, though with a voice that somewhat held the tone of voice that always appeared when you didn't know what someone was talking about, but didn't want to actually immediately show them you didn't. Honestly, Cedarkit didn't have much to say about Wolfstar since she didn't really know the cat. She saw him, but never really knew him. Even if he was the leader, no connection was made. Still, it was quite sad, this being the first death she witnessed, and there was added sadness when Otterkit kind of ruined the mood with his wacky mumbo jumbo, but...

Anyways she tilted her head and then looked at her sister. Is that why she was being all crazy? Well, she didn't actually know what to say, not being the, "sensitive" type who can give, "reassuring words to those in distress".

She thought of what to say, not wanting to say anything wrong so she doesn't get in trouble, but not wanting to say something overly stupid since Otterkit was obviously the superior mind in this "Kit Trio" and she didn't want to make herself look like an idiot in front of him even if she could knock, "some shut up" into him if he teased her.

"So... what happens now?" She asked more to Otterkit than to Goldenstorm, who the question was directed to.

Smoketail wanted to hide his face in Fernbreeze's fur. But he couldn't. He had to help WindClan. The new leader flicked his tail in acknowledgment to Redstar's apology, and raised his head high, eyes shining with grief. "Wolfstar is dead," he meowed in a steady voice. "Is there any cat that opposes to my becoming leader of WindClan?"

All of Naru's other charries stared.

Murmurs passed through all of Member's cats, except for like... Kestrelpaw because he honestly didn't give two fish and maybe Ashkit because he wasn't paying attention, regarding the decision.

Dewshine, from laying in her spot from wherever did feel deeply saddened about the death of a leader she'd known all her life, but things needed to be done, and quickly if they wanted to move through to the new home properly. "Nah, it's cool, bro!" She yelled to him from her distant post, though slightly uncharacteristically.

All of Snigger’s characters, including the ones that randomly appeared, had their various reactions to Wolfstar’s death. None of them were happy, but that would have been hilarious.

A WindClan she-cat stepped forward and meowed, “Wolfstar’s death is saddening but we cannot live in the past. I support you one-hundred percent!” Mintleaf stood firm, her grieved filled eyes filling with another emotion. She continued, a slightly different air about her, “And if there is anyone among you that object, well you’ll have to deal with me.” Her eyes flickered, realizing what she had just said. Not again. . .

Goldenstorm nodded, "I say this tom has the right to be the new leader of WindClan, and I stand beside Mintleaf. Whoever opposes this desicion will have to go through the both of us." he meowed, his eyes deeply saddened to a bright copper instead his sun filled gaze. His tail was very close to dragging on the ground and his ears fell down, close to his head. Though Wolfstar was dead, Smoketail would make a good leader. He was wise, smart, and kind to every cat in the Clan. It was obvious that he was meant to be the leader of WindClan.

"My name's Dawnblossom, and I'm from RiverClan," She mewed kindly to both cats. "They are lovely kits," She mewed softly to Fawnstep. "Do you have a mate?" She asked.

Pebblepaw shakily walked forward into the swath of cats. A million pairs of eyes darted here and there, and to Pebblepaw, all the eyes seemed to be focusing on him. He tried to look for a quiet corner where he could be alone, away from the many cats he was too afraid to be around. He searched the crowd for his sister Berrypaw, but she had already dove into the crowd, probably looking for anyone and everyone to talk to. Pebblepaw kept his head and tail down as he retreated to a small corner close to the entrance to the Gathering Area.

Berrypaw sprinted headfirst into the crowd. She wanted to talk to someone from WindClan, no FireClan, no ShadowClan! Anyone from somewhere interesting! She looked into every pair of eyes she could find, searching fro someone to talk to. Who couldn't resist a charming, exciting, adorable little bundle of fur like her!

FC:

Blazepaw strutted into the clearing, keeping his chin and tail high. He wasn't going to show any sign of weakness. Inside, he was nervous about the cats that were going to get hurt and killed on the journey, but also excited. They were finally going to get out of this disaster-filled death hole!
And besides, StarClan would travel with them, so they weren't leaving much behind. Or at least, he hoped.

Fernpaw, however, was visibly shaken by the thought of the treacherous trip. When she thought of leaving their home, she thought of how they were leaving everything behind; their traditions, their hunting places. And what about the future kits of FireClan? They would never be able to see their true home! She started to pace around the clearing, her mind swallowed up by her worries.

Vixenstep nodded and went to stand beside her friends. "I, as well, support Smoketail being WindClan's new leader!" She raised her tail, as if cuing something. "Smoketail! Smoketail!" she yowled.

Boulderkit squeaked. "Smoketail!" he howled as loud as his little voice could get. Several other cats, namely Raindapple, Gorsetalon, Birchfoot, Rockheart, Mistshadow, Hollyfrost, Ravenflight, and Shadefall, joined in the chorus. "Smoketail, Smoketail!"

Breezekit limped beside her brother, trying to keep his pace best she could, but was struggling to keep up. "Smoketail! Smoketail!" She mewed joining the chorus.

Fernbreeze leant over and whisper into her mates ear, "Don't worry, you'll do fine, I believe in you." Then with her tail she pointed it at all the cats chanting her mates name, "They do too,"

Silverfang's looked at Smoketail. "All of Windlan supports you, but why ask the question? It is part of the code that the deputy becomes leader after the old one dies."

Berrykit took her sister by the tail and stepped to Goldenstorm. "We support you, too!", she meowed to Smoketail.

Liontail and Skimbleshanks nodded to each other and then joined in the chanting. "Smoketail, Smoketail!"

All of Lynx' non WiC-cats said nothing, since it wasn't their business who became the new leader of WiC.

Fernbreeze stepped forward. "Those who do not approve of Smoketail's leadership, speak now!" Her voice ringing out over the clearing. She stepped back and licked her mates ear.

Otterkit sniggered. "Shut up Fernbreeze! Its not your place to talk. Everyone wants Smoketail to become Smokestar, leader of Windclan and this sites third SS."

"Otterkit!", Berrykit mewed to her friend. "It's not your place to speak either, and don't speak to a warrior like this! You're just a kit, you don't have the right to say or decide anything so shut up! We'll get only trouble with you speaking like this!" She still stood beside Goldenstorm.

Otterkit rolled us eyes. He was just making a statement, pointing a very obvious thing out. Berrykit is such a wimpy rule follower..
