Sparrow stopped at the border and sniffed. The smell was different from the rank stinkof the cats that they had just left. He turned and looked at his sister. "Should we go on or do you think Redstar was tricking us?"

Lynx smiled. "He better not have." She lifted her nose to the air and opened her mouth drinking in the scents of chared bark, soot and ashes. She could smell a mouse and could hear and just see it beneath a fallen tree. She leaped with paws outstreched and claws extended. She quickly finished of the scrawney prey.

"Well, its a start." Sparrow was awufully negavtive, but that was irrelavant. He sniffed and caught the scent of a bird. He walked forwards, and spotted with an alarmingly red plummage. He stalked the cardinal, his eyes fixed on the prey. he pounced and landed on the bird, killing it quickly. "Well, there isn't much else to hunt I think. At least each of us killed something."

"I think we can find more." She mewed nodding respetively at his bird. She began walking to a different part of the burnt area. "Wonder why he sent us here?"

"No idea. But the scent sure is different." Sparrow sniffed and moved away from his sister. "If we split we can find more."

(No cause you bought it up suddenly as if you or I had already said it!)

"Oh yeah I noticed it ages ago. We probally shouldn't hunt here. We'll go back and tell Redstar but get this prey inspected incase of any diseases. The river in Thunderclan has been contaminated." She mewed.

Sparrow growled. "Nah there's still prey around. Nobody's cought us yet, I think we should press on. Really impress the cat."

Lostpaw, who had been searching for some herbs that might still be untouched by leaf-bare, flicked her ears up at the sound of mewing. She twitched her nose as the scent of rouge and Shadowclan wafted to wards her, plus the scent of a certin type of prey. Hmph... Guess they don't know what's been going on... Figures for little Apprentices who aren't completely Shadowclan yet. The Medicine Cat Apprentice shook her head and puched her way out of the bushes. "You two! She yowled, her eyes directed at the scent of the two little cats. "Don't you know what is going to happen if you take Thunderclan prey?" She slit her clouded eyes and unsheathed her claws, even if she knew that she wasn't much of a threat. "If you two furballs bring those peices of prey into Shadowclan and your clan ate them, then you two will be in a lot of trouble! The prey you caught is tainted, like most of the prey around her and Riverclan. If you dropped it on the way into your camp and your own prey ate it, then you'll be over-runned with tainted prey. You'll kill your own clan before you can do anything about it!" The end of her little lecture was a yowl and a hissed combined.

"Lynx!" Sparow cried. "I can tell from her scent of herbs that she is a medicine cat. Do not fight her." He turned to look at the she-cat. "We are sorry for stealing your prey. We were not imformed that this was'nt Shadowclan territory. We were simply hunting here to please Redstar. I thank you got telling us about the prey." He bowed his head slightly. Hurting a cat of healing was a great sin to him.
