Skimble waited in a dark place in windclan territory for his friend Macavity to arive.

Macavity's yawn could have woken every cat on the forest. He hadn't been sleeping well, so it wasn't until he was practically on top of Skimbleshanks that he realized. "Mornin." He meowed.

"I have to talk to you.", he mewed. His claws kneeded the ground.

"Mmm? What about?" The ginger tom sat, looking at his friend with questioning eyes.

Skimble looked down, then into the eyes of his friend and godfather. "Flower wants kits. I dunno what to do now. I mean, would I be a good father? I love order and rules and I love to serve and protect the clan, but ...", he paused. "Could I protect her? Could I protect the kits? Could I be a good mentor to them who teaches them the sense of order and the warrior code?" He looked desperate. "Mac, I feel so helpless right now. I really love flower, but...", he mewed and let his sentence trail off.

Macavity sighed and looked at the Windclan warrior. "I really don't know. I haven't been with you for moons and I can't even tell if your a good cat or not. But I'll tell you this. Morningflower seems like a responcible, intelligent cat and she wouldn't ask to have kits with you if she didn't think you would be a good father." The tom-cat had always wanted a family, and that was why he had always been so close to Skimbleshanks. In a way he was jealous that his firend was getting what he had always wanted, but never had.

Skimble said nothing, he simply laid down to think about it. "You know, Mac?", he mewed, looking at his friend. "You would be like their uncle. I want you to be part of my family."

"Thank you Skimble." Macavity meowed, looking sadly into the distance. What should he do? What could he do? There was nothing, nothing at all. Skimbleshanks had to make the desicions from now on.

"I'll see Flower to tell her. And you'll be a great uncle for them.", Skimble mewed happily, his tail high in the air. Then he padded away.

Macavity smiled thoughtfully and climbed up his tree again. Maybe being a clan cat won't be so bad...I'll ask him to take me to their camp tomorrow....
