Sleeping(Open, kinda)

The den was quiet, filled only with the sounds of sleeping cats and the soft drip of rainwater falling through the branches. In a nest towards the center, larger than most of the nests there, Spiderfang slept. The huge black she-cat had had yet another uneventful day. First trying unsuccessfully to hunt in the blasted rain, then waiting for her apprentice to show up. She hadn't, of course. She's already late to being a warrior... Her brothers are all warriors by now because Maplepaw has missed so many of her training sessions.

Though it was half her fault, because she never offered to train the young cat. Ugh... I'm just like those soft ThunderClan queens... Mooning over my mate won't do anything.... She rolled over to face the entrance to the den, amber eyes flickering with thought.

She finally went to sleep with a huge sigh. Whatever...

Larkbreeze stood in the middle of the clearing, looking around the camp. He was one of the newer members. He still hadn't gotton rid of most of his WindClan scent. He felt like a traitor, leaving his clan for his own ambitions with one that terrorized them so, even though he still respected them. Was StarClan looking down at him, shaking their heads in shame? He couldn't say for sure, he just wondered if he'd lose himself. No matter, these were thoughts better kept outside of camp, where he could be with himself. The camp, though, could take some getting used to.

Slowly he padded to were he was trying vaugly remembered was the Warrior's Den. It was in a completely different spot than in WindClan. He stepped inside, his nostrils becoming overwhelmed with the smell of the Warriors, those that had been here from the start, or at least beflore he was here. He barely had time, or even took the time, to learn the names of all the cats. He looked at all of them, sleeping as they should, some more peaceful than others.

Soon enough his eyes landed on Spiderfang. The cat who seemed to have done some much in time that seemed to skip away with beautiful speed. She'd killed her clanmates, and left as she should have. Then, in mere moons she came back into his life after he had gladly blocked her out, killing his brother with merciless pleasure. And there she slept, peacefully, just as she shouldn't be. But she was an easy kill now. He could get her now if he wanted, but he stopped himself. It was for another day.

He lay down in his nest, just a cat away from her, laying awake as he could feel his scent mending with the others, changing in an unsettling way. Did he want this? Yes, for now. He'd have to take it, and take it he would, until he finally reached his goal.

Spiderfang's paws twitched, her claws unsheathing. She'd smelled something familiar and eerie. An old scent she hadn't smelled for many moons... No, many seasons. Her eyes flashed open. WindClan.

Many thoughts swirled through her head as she lifted her muzzle to sniff the air. This cat smelled mainly of WindClan, yet he had her Clan's scent on him. As well as her old best friend's scent. Yarrowsprout had been dead for many moons now. He couldn't be here.

Her eyes roved over the nests until she spotted a familiar pelt. Larkbreeze... Now she remembered. Larkbreeze had joined DarkClan a little while ago, his intentions unclear. She snorted and turned away. She didn't need remnants from her past distracting her.

Felicity padded into the Warrior den, mumbling words of hatred under breath. Her claws were unsheathed and gleaming in what little light there was in the den. She hissed and scraped the moss that had strayed from her ness, back to where it belonged. She flopped into her nest, curling up and finally sheathing her claws. In her head, she was still thinking of hatred.

She shook herself and shuffled deeper into the soft nest but she couldn't get comfortable. There were cats talking. Go outside if you want to catch up on where to get the best prey! She thought. Probably new warriors, that chatted all the time in there old apprentice den! She mewed in her mind as she pictured her leaping at a group of chatting apprentices, and culling them all one at a time.

Finally giving up on the prospect of sleep, Felicity looked up. The realizing that Windclan traitor was talking to a Darkclan she cat. Spiderfang... She mewed in her mind. She nodded at the Windclan tom. "Hey, you! Shouldn't you be back at your clan, Windclan?" She teased, mockery tinged her tone.
"Spiderfang!" She mewed in a more friendly tone. "Aren't you supposed to be in the nursery, your expecting kits right?" She mewed, all mockery suddenly vanished. She deserves respect, unlike the Windclan warrior that called himself a Darkclan cat! she thought bitterly.

Spiderfang's head snapped up, her pelt bristling out so that she was twice her immense size. "Who told you?" she snapped, eyes gleaming with shock and slight anger. "I'm not expecting kits yet!"

Larkbreeze looked in Spiderfang's direction. He heard her rustling, for what reasons, he didn't actually know. He watched her as she layed their, his eyes looking calm, but deep in their depths a coldness brewed. He fur began to bristle, tall and high. He felt hot with his anger, and it was all directed towards her. He looked away from the she-cat and growled low.

"The day will come when flowers bloom and moss grows green and the bees get their honey," he mumbled. He repeated the phrase over and over again. Something that his brother had said when he was an apprentice, using it as his little saying for whatever his mentor, or any other apprentice's mentor, had to throw at them. He thought it was a glint of nothign that would go away soon enough, but it didn't, and he cherished the words.

Larkbreeze's head slowly went over in another cat's direction as she mouthed her little teasing at him. He didn't even know what her name was. His fur bristled with all his fury. He growled at the other cat that he was none too happy to call his new clan mate. He unsheathed his claws.

"Shut up you annoying pest!" He snapped quickly, and snarl coming into his voice. "What have you done to allow yourself to boast? What you sound like is just another useless warrior around just to eat the prey and agitate all of the other cats!" He dug his claws into the ground, his developiong fury showing himself. Different from his more lax nature that romped within him prior to his brother's death.

His looked away from her, not hearing whatever Spiderfang had said, and not caring about it either. He just stayed in the anger that moved through him like an evil badger.

Spiderfang groaned and stood, shaking her pelt and forcing it to lie flat. "I'm going outside. I can't sleep with you idiots jabbering on about nothing!" she spat, only a glimmer of teasing in her harsh tone.

She flicked her long tail and padded outside to sit in the rain. Just seeing Larkbreeze had brought about so many memories. Some good and some that made her ache with pain.

Larkbreeze got up from his seat gruffly and got himself right out of the den. He didn't want to be in there with her. It shouldn't be so hard to go to sleep at night, but, it seemed as if he'd have to try. The small cat walked past Spiderfang and plopped himself down on the ground. He wasn't too fond of the Warrior's Den anyways. This was much better, and he didn't have to be stuck to cats he wasn't too fond of, either. Less cats were out here too, he couldn't get to sleep quicker if he stayed out here.

The black she-cat pricked her ears as Larkbreeze padded out to lie in the rain. She grumbled under her breath and turned away from him, licking one massive paw and drawing it over her muzzle. Spiderfang didn't care that he was here. Long as he didn't bother her with comments on WindClan.

Larkbreeze's fur soon became heaving with the rain. He put his ears back as water flowed over his face and into his nostrils. He rolled over on his side, forgetting completely about the mud. When it seaped into his fur and chilling his skin. Quickly he sat up, but a second later he found himself not caring. Well... he was already muddy now, right? He rolled to the other side. Well, he might as well even it out. Back on his stomach, the brown tom looked browner. He loved the mud. He'd have to clean himself later, which was a bore, but it was still fun. Though.. it made him feel heavy.

He stood up from his seat and shook some of the mud from his fur. Specks of mud flew in many directions, releaving themselves from him. It made him feel more... comfortable. He laied back down, satifsfied with his new bed.

"It appears I'm in the midst of an idiot," Spiderfang muttered. She almost wished Bengalbelly were here. At least that tom could make a conversation slightly interesting. Even if he did infuriate her every time he opened his mouth. She hadn't spoken to him since his sister had given birth.

And Skull should be here too. It made her uneasy to see Larkbreeze's brown pelt, so much like Yarrowsprout's that it was eerie.

Larkbreeze's ears twitched when he heard Spiderfang's mew. He thought for moments, trying to decipher just what she'd said, it was hard to hear her past the rain.

"Shut up, Spiderfang. You're the one who's out here over some little problem." Whatever it was. He knew it was something. He flicked his tail, and with that motion some mud was tossed back into the ground. Ah, but he could clean it later, and anyways, this would help that old WindClan scent get away. Though... it made him feel exposed to begin to lose it.

Spiderfang hissed but said nothing, turning away from the obnoxious WindClan- no, DarkClan,- tom. "Whatever," she muttered, licking her paw again. She'd have to deal with him, she supposed.

Larkbreeze grunted and turned his attention away from Spiderfang, and back to his own. The mud gave him a comfortable feeling, but it would all be gone soon, the rain had nearly cleaned all that had slicked his back. Maybe staying out in the rain was a bad idea. He could get... sick or something. Then he'd seem weak and unimportant. He sat up, feeling the water flow over his chest and down to his stomach, starting to clean off whatever it could of the mud.

He stood up to go back in the den, but stopped in his tracks. Wait... before he went in there, back to that other cat, he might as well figure out whaqt cats he was actually dealing with. He looked back at Spiderfang. It seemed she was the only one he could ask at the moment.

"Uh... who was that anyways?" He asked her, expecting her to know he meant Felicity.

Spiderfang looked at him sideways. "That's Felicity. She can be annoying but she's a good warrior to have by your side in a fight," she said, her voice a rumble in her throat. "If you see a big tabby avoid him. That's Bengalbelly." And she was telling her newest Clanmate this why, exactly? Well if he decided to run back to WindClan then maybe he'd think she wouldn't stop him. Then she could slaughter him. Pretty screwed up logic, yes, but it'd most likely work.

"And why?" Larkbreeze questioned. "Oh, never mind." He didn't even want to hear the explaination. He was ready for bed, or had been for a while, so he didn't care for that now. "And the other ones are..?" He flicked his tail in the direction of the Warrior's Den. He felt more comfortable knowing who he lay his head against. He didn't want to be woken up with teeth in his throat.

"Skull won't hurt you, Church was a kittypet, Stormcloud's probably out hunting, and all the others are on patrol." she said, naming them by their scents.

"Mhm." Larkbreeze gave in reply. So, he still really didn't know who they are, but he knew more now. Oh well, maybe he'll have a better time figuring these out tomorrow. He was really tired now. What was it about rain that made him so drowsy? He walked into the Warrior's Den again, hoping to actually get some peace now. He laid down in his and curled up, hoping to get aome sleep.

Spiderfang rolled her eyes. That cat would have to get used to sleepless nights, as most DarkClanners' were night hunters.

"I don't think I like that cat," Bengelbelly said as he walked to stand beside Spidefang, his mouth carrying a single mouse dangling by its tail. Obviously, he was trying very hard at hunting, if he was hunting. "And why are you just standing out here in the rain? You know, if you get sick, I'll get sick, and I'm not in the mood for not feeling well. So I suggest you go back inside," he growled at her.

Spiderfang looked sideways at Bengalbelly. "I'm out here because he smells like a something died in his fur and he rolled around on a thunderpath." she explained, wrinkling her nose in disgust as she caught a wiff of his scent from the den.

"No, no," Bengalbelly scoffed in reply, "that's what you smell like. It's very distinct." He nodded his head, as if he was seriously concidering what he had said was true. "Easy to get used to, easy to ignore. It explains why no one wants to talk to you except," he paused and grunted something of disgust, "Skull." Yes, they have each other.

Spiderfang stifled a purr. "What do you have against my mate?" she asked, putting a frown on her face that wasn't sincere. "Well you have a problem with every cat but you seem to especially hate Skull."

"No, I especially hate Church," he corrected, "he ranks the highest above every cat. It's surprising, considering the cats on the list, and the reasoning behind my disliking." He growled a little. WHy did it even matter anyways? "I have nothing against him. Just, as of late, I haven't liked him as much as the average cat." The best answer he could care to give at the moment.

"Okay then?" She looked over at him curiously before sighing and giving up. Bengalbelly was tough to understand... Spiderfang didn't get him at all. Only making things clear when he wanted them to. Always acting high and might no matter what and giving orders. "You've been acting weird lately. Ever since Clovernose had kits." she ventured.
