TRAINING (NO FUNNEH BUSINESS) [AND CLOSED TO ALL NON-MEMBERRIES]

Hawkfire stalked through the trees, rain noisly hitting the trees around him. He was avoiding the part of Thunderclan territory that been burned to ashes. He never liked to go there anymore. He stopped and looked back. "Branchpaw, we'll be hunting birds today." He meowed. "They can't fly very well when it's raining, so they'll be easy prey." Hawkfire scented the air. He could smell pine trees and must be getting close to the border. Then he smelled something else...something he smelled before a long time ago. He heard rustling among some dead leaves. A strange rat, maybe? He listened closer, concentrating on the sound.

"Birds? Well... okay.." Branchpaw was looking forward to some battle training, it was just in his nature to fight. Oh well, he'd do what he have to. He tilted his head at his mentor, he seemed distracted by something. Branchpaw heard a rustling and looked over. Should he go for that? Or just stay?

Hawkfire looked for whatever was making the noise. His uber kitteh sense was telling him to run, but that would set a bad example for Branchpaw. "Fatnose...I mean...Branchpaw, why don't you go find a plump bird and I'll---OMFGBBQ!" Before Hawkfire could finish speaking, AN UBER VIPER shot out of the undergrowth and missed Hawkfire's BOOTIFUL face by a mouse-length. Hawkfire jumped backwards.

Branchpaw yelped in his momentary fright. He quickly closed his mouth, that was embarrassing. He stared at the viper that had appeared from the undergrowth. Where did that come from? Had it been here the whole time? What was he supposed to do? Run? Attack? Actually, it wasn't a question of what he was going to do. Oh no, he was the apprentice, this was Hawkfire's responsibility. Yes, it may have been true that he could use his rawrburgers, but why when you have a mentor to do it right there? Well, that wasn't the point, and it seems kind of horrible at the same time. He'd have to just wait for the order to do... something. Just as he got himself ready, it hit him.

Hawkfire called him a fat nose....
