Watching Over Camp

The sky was a solid light gray mass. Some birds chirped, but not many. There weren't many trees to make a nest around Wolfclan territory. The whole place was a bit dusty, and stones littered the ground. Except for maybe some twoleg junk that had been there for as long as anyone could remember. The only places that didn't seem to be lifeless were the places where big paws had turned up the dust, and maybe some trash and soil. The place was in ruins, horrible for twolegs.
Alphonse stared at the gray sky. Not another one, the young gamma thought to himself sadly. Though the sky was gray, it was still bright. Alphonse blinked and had to look away. He sighed and rolled a pebble with his forepaw. He and his brother had been confined to the Wolfclan camp gaurding it while the Alpha and a few other gammas left it to chase after a cat. A cat. Come on, why can't they just leave them alone? It was only one... just a little one... Alphonse thought. He looked toward his brother Edward to see how he was taking the confinement. (Is that even a word?oO)

Flint stalked into the camp on the hard paved ground. He sat at the edge of the warrior's structure. He looked over everything, taking note of the dust. Some Subordinates would become Gammas soon. That was the only thing that seemed good for the clan. Flint stretched, his claws scraping the ground. He started toward his den, and along the way he hit Alphonse's pebble away.

The gamma sighed boredly as he looked away from his brother. His head was sinking toward his paws when his ear flicked. "Huh?" Alphonse muttered, his head jerking up. He looked up and saw Flint, the Alpha of the pack, stalk into camp. Alphonse was just about to bark a greeting when Flint ignored the two and shoved Al's pebble away. "Oh well..." Alphonse muttered to himself. He knew his brother wouldn't react kindly to Flint's ignorance of the two. Alphonse just hoped that Edward wouldn't do anything too terrible. He glanced warningly at Edward, hoping to catch the slightly smaller wolf's eye. And let's hope Flint doesn't call him small...

Flint stopped outside his den. "Alphonse, there's a Gathering tonight. First once since the cats came. I'd like you to come."

Al looked up abruptly, his banges flopping. He couldn't believe his ears. He was going to the gathering! "Th-thank you, Flint." Alphonse stuttered, trying to sound respectful. However he couldn't help but feel excited. It took all his patience to keep his tail from twitching. Yes! I hope Ed gets to go... He thought. This would be their first gathering as a Gamma, too.

Flint went into the main clearing. "Alphonse, Kioki, Livi, Edward, Falco, Sam, Winterfur, and Jet will be coming to this night's Gathering. If they are not in the camp right now, tell them when they come back." His voice was suprisingly loud, anyone on the street could hear him.

This answered Alphonse's silent question as Flint announced who would go to the gathering. It seemed as if all of Wolfclan were attending tonight. This is the first gathering since the cats came to the forest... This is a really important gathering. Maybe Flint's taking everyone because of that. Alphonse thought, getting up and shaking his gray fur. He yawned, stretched, and padded down the street, preparing himself for the gathering. He turned and went back up the street to the camp, and this turned into pacing.

Flint went into his den. It's early enough to leave for the Gathering now. But should I wait a little while? He stood near a broken window, dust lying on the windowsill. No. I'll go now. He went outside his den, looking to see if everyone was in the camp. Jet is here. There's Sam. Edward, Alphonse, there's Falco and Winterfur. And there's Livi. But Kioki isn't here. He sat down and waited.

Alphonse stopped pacing, and entered camp again. He sat down, fidgeting a bit, anxious to go to the gathering.

When Kioki entered camp a few minutes later, Flint stood up. He signaled the Beta, Subordinate, and Gammas to follow him.

Alphonse spotted the signal, and leaped to his feet. "Come on, Ed!" He barked excitedly, padding after the rest of Wolfclan. I'll get to meet the rest of the clans! Al thought to himself.

Kioki padded slowly toward ownhgiobawhgiowahgiohwae. His mind was clouded with thoughts. Iwonder why no clan has ever used this to wipe out the other clans.... He sighed, there are so many strange costums with cats.
