Goldenkit looked out of the nursery, the camp was quiet it was moon high and the clan slept peacefully. Although he lived in the nursery, he was weaned and took his share from the fresh-kill pile. He did not have to hunt.

He slipped out of the nursery as quiet as the wind and worked his way to the leader's den. He poked his head through the entrance and called "Wolfstar?". "
