Hiding Weakness(OPEN)

Prey scent flooded the tom's jaws as he prowled into the forest,his ears pricked and his nose twitching. His sightless blue eyes were of no use to him now;he let his other senses range into the forest. He felt a mouse's tiny heartbeat through the ground with his paws,and he could hear and smell it scuffling beneath the roots of a pine tree,it's musky forest scent making his jaws flood with water. Cloudfrost crouched,pinpointing the exact location of his prey with little difficulty. He sprang,and sank his claws into the mouse's spine. He heard nothingbut a soft crunch,the mouse oblivious to the end. He scraped earth over the lifeless body and stood,scenting the air again.


He pressed one paw to the ground as he padded forwards,and pain shot up into his shoulder. He cringed,lifting his paw off of the ground momentarily. The world of darkness he'd grown accustomed to was now a bright white flash of pain,and his head swirled. He collapsed onto one side,grimacing.

Silverpelt scented the air and soon found Cloudfrost on his side. "Oh no!" she murmured and ran to him, as fast as she could while not scare any prey. "Are you okay?" She asked the tom, worry in her voice.

Cloudfrost didn't respond. He was barely conscious,lack of food and a recent injury taking it's toll on his body.

Silverpelt listened intently before grabbing Cloudfrost's scruff and struggling to drag him to the camp, carefully.

Cloudfrost hung limply from Silverpelt's jaws,long fur dragging the ground. Then he lashed out with his paw suddenly,hissing in surprise as he woke. "Let me go! I have to hunt for the Clan!"he spat,flailing his paws weakly.

Silverpelt hissed through Cloudfrost's scruff, "You're in no condition to hunt!" She kept struggling to drag the blind warrior back to the camp. "You should have eaten when I gave you the chance..." She said, her mouth still full of fur.

"I'm fine! I'm no asset to the Clan! Just let me do as I want!"Cloudfrost hissed,still struggling.

Silverpelt spits out Cloudfrost's scruff and looks at him. "No asset? I don't know about the rest of the Clan, but you're an asset to me because... You may have information I want. But first, you're going to the medicine den!" She grabs his scruff again and starts to drag him slowly.

Cloudfrost fell limp again,exhausted. "I told you,I'm fine. I can give you the information you want...Just let me continue hunting!"he growled weakly.

The silver she-cat sighed. "Fine. But if you fall again, I'm going to drag you to the medicine den, whether you like it or not." She spits out Cloudfrost's scruff again and lept into a tree, watching out for prey before asking, "Did you meet a black loner at some point?"

Cloudfrost shook his pelt before answering. "Yes. At the border,around three moons ago."

Silverpelt leaned forward slightly, "Cold personality? Almost uncaring?" She felt she was onto something.

"Yep."Cloudfrost said,wincing as he pulled himself up off the ground.

Silverpelt looked at Cloudfrost and asked with some emotion laced in her voice, "Your name was Cloudfrost... Right?"

"Yes,why?"the tom growled,his eyes flashing. He still had no clue as to why his leader had chosen Cloudfrost as his warrior name.

Silverpelt lept out of the tree, snagging a bird in mid-air and landing quietly on a rock, she murmured, "Did the loner ever mention his name?"

"Er,I think his name was Stealthclaw."Cloudfrost mewed,blinking.

Silverpelt looked down. "He was here..." she murmured. She smirked slightly and said, "He gave an explaination for your name, I'm guessing? He usually does that."

Cloudfrost growled and didn't reply. He closed his eyes. "Is that all? I was hoping for a little nap later,and I hope this doesn't drag on."he said sarcastically,irritation plain in his tone.

Silverpelt sighed. "I'm done... for now." She picked up her bird and padded back to camp.

Cloudfrost sighed in relief. "Finally....She-cats are so annoying..."he muttered,standing up shakily. He lashed his tail once before heading off to find his mouse.
