Tour o' the Territory

Falconswoop led the cats to the Arch, Ferretflight beside him, the apprentices behind. "This is the Arch," he meowed, leaping onto the side.

"It marks the edge of this border. Tom always scent mark it. Right Falconswoop?" Ferretflight finished, hinting that Falconswoop should scent marker the Arch.

"what do we share a border with here?" Mudpaw asked. "I want to learn all of these scents. Speaking of scents, I smell a mouse!" Mudpaw dropped into a hunting crouch and started towards the scent.

Ferretflight stifled a laugh. Mudpaw's crouch was awful, but she would let him go at it. When he missed, she would get it.

Mudpaw (attempted to) snuck up on the very skinny mouse and jumped, the mouse saw him, and scurried away, Mudpaw hot on its trail.

Seeing that Mudpaw would not catch it, Ferretflight leaped into the air with her short legs and landed on the mouse. "Nice try, Mudpaw." she dropped the mouse at his paws. "We definately have to work on your crouch." she smiled.

ooc: she-cats can mark stuff, too, y'know..............cats don't have to spray everything they want to mark. They've got these gland things in their cheeks and paws. That's part of the reason why you see them rubbing against their owner's legs and stuff, to mark them as their own.

Falconswoop crouched on the rock, watching Mudpaw with amusement. His tail twitched. He wanted to correct his form, but detected Ferretflight wanted to give him a chance.

Brightpaw gazed after Mosspaw, tail twitching irritably. What was he so excited about? It wasn't as if he'd catch the mouse. She could see that his crouch was all wrong, and his paws made a soft crunching sound in the snow. "Ugh," she murmured, turning to Ferretflight. "Can I try the next one?" she asked. "I've known how to hunt for a while now, because I'd lived on my own for some moons and taught myself to hunt."

ooc: or else she would've DIED

"Hey, i had that mouse, it was just too small! I'd have to squash it if i wanted to kill it!" MUDpaw said, "In newleaf i'll get more mice, then they will have some meat on their bones!" Mudpaw complained.

Ferretflight looked up into the sky, dismayed. "I hope your right Mudpaw. I hope your right." she whispered.

Ferretflight returned to her world. "Sure Brightpaw, but there's no glory in showing off." she warned.

"Hmm..."mudpaw hummed out loud. Mudpaw dropped to a crouch, then looked at his form, shifting his paws and rear. "How about this?" Mudpaw asked, determined to get his crouch right.

Ferretflight smiled slightly while shaking her head. She walked up to the young apprentice, "No. Here, like this." she mewed while pushing his rump a little closer to the ground and moving his paws up so that he was standing on his toes.

"this feels funky" mudpaw meowed, while putting his paws back down. Mudpaw unsheathed his claws, then sheathed them again, looking disappointed at their size. "When do you figure I'll be ready... to fight another cat?" Mudpaw asked, while spinning in impressively tight circles around one point, his body at 180°, and he didn't even notice.

Ferretflight stood back, astonished. She shook the feeling off like water from her pelt. "You can start battle training tommorow." she mewed, shaken. She suddenly got an idea. "Mudpaw, how fast can you run?" she asked.

Brightpaw blinked, watching Mudpaw do a 180. "Whoa," she mewed as Falconswoop leaped down from the Arch with the same expression on his face.

ooc: so is who is Ferretflight's apprentice and Falconswoop's apprentice? I'm lost TwT

OOC: Falconswoop doesn't have an apprentice... Ferretflight's is a... Mudpaw? I forgot. XD

ooc: yeah, I thought Ferretflight had Mudpaw. Unless I'm wrong?

"Mudpaw?" Ferretflight was growing slightly impatient. "Can you please show me how fast you can run?"

"Where do i run?" Mudpaw asked, looking around.

"Hmmm." Ferretlflight looked around. There was a plot of trees nearby. "Run to that oak in the front there." she pointed it out with her tail.

"Okay" Mudpaw meowed, then stretched for a moment.

"Alright, here i go" He said, bolting off at an amazing speed, surpassing that of a warrior, reaching the tree shortly after he began. "Was that good?" He asked.

OOC: {hidden potential unlocked: SPEED! Mudpaw can run amazingly fast, matching his flexibility well. Mudpaw cannot strike hard, but he has great agility in his blows. AMAZING!

Ferretflight sat back in awe. "C-Come back here Mudpaw." she choked. This cat was amazing, he could have a new way of hunting and fighting. He was unpredictable.
