More Training

Griffinpaw sat on his boulder, lashing his tail back and forth, occasionaly twitching his whisker from time to time in agitation. His amber eyes kept on the place where he entered, the direct route from the camp to the training spot he sit in.
Where is Foxkit? he growled in his mind.

Kestrelkit walked through the dense forest that was ShadowClan territory. He'd snuck out, bored; he used the entrance way. He just walked right out without a care, and now he was here, enjoying the greatness of being small in a big world. Of being a kit in a place he shouldn't be. Oh yeah, this, this was cool.

He spotted Griffonpaw, sitting on a boulder and particularly angry about something he didn't know about. What it was? He didn't know. Did he care? Only slightly, only slighty. "What's with you?" He asked casually.

Griffinpaw scented Kestrelkit before seeing or heering the young tom. He stood up, "Nothing." he answered blankly. He didn't care that the kit was out, he could do what he wanted. It was nothing of his business.

"You don't seem lik your doing nothing," he answered back in the same way, only his tone was less caring, monotone. He didn't know why he was actually asking questions. Maybe it was some weird kit thing. He stared up at Griffonpaw, waiting for his answer.

Griffinpaw shrugged, sitting back down and looking into the forest. "I'm waiting for someone." he replied carelessly cool.

"And that is?" Kestrelkit asked. He already had an idea, but he was going to wait for him to actually say who it was. You know, even if the cat was a grump, he liked Griffonpaw. He was... different. Not always happy around kits and stuff when he came around. Not genuine happiness, that, faked, make-the-kits-happy one.

Griffinpaw looked at a struggling leaf on a tall oak tree, barely hanging holding on to it's tree. "Foxkit." he said blankly. This kit asks a lot of questions...

"I knew it," Kestrelkit mewed, a little triumph in his voice as he said aloud his thoughts by accident. He played it off, though, mentally checking himself instead. He looked at the area where they were. Lots of trees... as expected. Mm. "Doesn't seem like a lot of room to do your little training thing..."

Griffinpaw looked at Kestrelkit, a very bored look. "Did you now?" he asked, niether uninterested or extremely intriguied.

Kestrelkit sat down. "Yeah," his voice lame, "she told me... I don't know.. a couple days ago? We were out with Wolfkit somwhere over there," he waved his tail lazily, the direction not actually clear in the way he did it. He didn't have the motivation to actually... you know... try. He took a close look at Griffonpaw. Man, that cat made apprenticeship look crappy, and he sure thought it was too.

"Well, she's old enough to be an apprentice." he shrugged again. "And the room we have is plenty for a well trained warrior to fight in." he pointed out.

"Yeah, but you just said she was an apprentice, not a warrior. Therefor, it doesn't work." Oh geez, where did that come from? It was some kind of buried thing, but it was pretty annoying thinking back over it. If a cat told him that, he'd cuff them in the back of their head and use his memorized moves on them. Nice and fluid.

Griffinpaw silenced a growl that he felt rising in his throat. "This is the place I was trained in, this is the place I will train her in." he meowed. "It will only be to benefit her."

Mhm. Well, that was somewhat interesting. Putting on a more interested tone, though he may not have been himself, he said: "What are you teaching her anyways?" Maybe if he sounded interested, he wouldn't tell him. Eh.

Griffinpaw sighed. His head hung low, he was slightly annoyed. "I'm teaching her to fight, unless you've guessed that too." he almost growled.

"Of course you're teaching her to fight. I mean, what moves? Like the whole unbalance belly thing that apprentices love to do back in camp." He memorized that one too, but he'd never actually tried it. He had no need, at the moment. Though, he might try it on Beekit for kicks.

Griffinpaw raised what should be an eyebrow, if cats had those. "I don't think I know about that. But I'm teaching her whatever I can cram into her brain." he mewed, staring at another tree. "In one word, everything."

"So she'd be prepared and just better than everyone when she's apprenticed? Right?" That's what he assumed. He didn't know about that? Well, whoever his mentor was needed to teach him. That, he should have a word about. "Why are you teaching her stuff anyways?"

"Yeah." Griffinpaw answered. "And she asked me." he answered. "She's got the guts and potential. She fought me even when she knew she had no chance." the tom grinned devilishly.

"Was that the day Feralpelt got in the way? I only got the end of that one," he commented, thinking about what he could have seen. "You know, I hope whatever you're teaching her makes her the leader, because Tansykit is supposed to be her deputy, and if he dies, I think I'm next on the list, and if he doesn't, I think I'm a sure fire deputy. Even if I'm don't really care, and probably wouldn't want to. It's good to have it all setup." He nodded. Oh yes it was.

Foxkit charged into the clearing, her fur sticking up and full of dried moss and twigs. "Sorry!" she squeaked, seeing Griffonpaw looking very, very annoyed. She didn't see Kestrelkit yet. "Lunarshine caught me trying to go out the front entrance... So I had to go through the dirt-place." Ugh. She hated that dirt-place tunnel. She could'a gone the secret way she'd found a few moons earlier but she didn't feel like it. Besides it'd look suspicious for her to be sneaking around behind the nursery. There just-so-happened to be a thousand warriors in camp today.

Then she spotted Kestrelkit. "Hey, what're you doing here?" she asked, blinking bright blue eyes. That might be why Griffonpaw -her mentor- was so annoyed. The little arrogant tom could be very aggravating. But so could she. And so could everyone else in camp. But then again... Griffonpaw only ever hung out with his mentor, Cloudfrost, anymore. So would he even know how annoying Kestrelkit and the others could be? So many questions ran through Foxkit's little mind.

Kestrelkit spun around towards Foxkit, a cool expression on his face. "I don't know..." He answered, trailing off. "I was pretty bored, I just kind of strolled out of there." A kind of a grin went over his face, not a real one, but kind of one.

Griffinpaw slipped calmly off his boulder, landing perfectly on his paws. He padded forward, "Now that we've made our wonderful little reunion," he rolled his eyes "May we start?" he mewed. He took his fighting stance just a few feet from Foxkit, she'd make the first move this time.
