More Training

Well that was rude! Kestrelkit turned his head back at Griffonpaw, glaring at him. You know, he didn't have to be such a fox, even though he was... better than the other apprentices. He sighed angrily and stepped up on the boulder, sitting down and looking at Griffonpaw. This... right now, seemed like one of those apprentice demonstrations. THose boring, repetitive ones. Ah, maybe he'll see something interesting.

Griffinpaw turned around to look at Kestrelkit, "What are you doing? Get back down here, you're going to fight her." he meowed in a very instructive voice.

Oh, so demanding. But okay, fine, sure. Let's try it. Kestrelkit jumped down easily from the boulder and sat over next to Griffonpaw. Well, a little bit in front and to the side, but all in all, next to him. He stared over at Foxkit calmly, not at all in a position ready to fight. Almost as if he'd just spectate right there.

"Alright." Griffinpaw smiled, closing his eyes and sitting down. "Remember your weaknesses, your strengths, and most important." he cut off briefly, not to add any suspense or anything, he just did. "Remember where your footing is."

Pfft. Remember where your footing is. Your feet are on the ground. He didn't think that was that hard to actually remember. He rolled his eyes and waited for Foxkit to start. Man, he hoped Griffonpaw wouldn't talk them through this because it was going to get boring after that.

Griffinpaw turned around and sat on his boulder, suddenly paying close attention to the two cats. He changed when he mentored, not much though. He was still pretty much himself, but he did have the more guiding air to him. He waited for Foxkit to make her move.

Foxkit crouched, waving her tail. Her opponent was Kestrelkit, eh? "I'm gonna get you back for that time!" she said playfully, starting to stalk towards him, her back low and arched as she crept along the ground. She suddenly leaped, hooking her front paw to try and trip Kestrelkit before leaping back to avoid any counter-attacks.

At this point, Kestrelkit had stopped actually paying attention and started to stare off somewhere else. He didn't snap back until he heard Foxkit say something. He watched her as she stalked forward, slowly raising himself up to stand. Well, you can't fight sitting down can you? While he was stuck asking himself this question, he was caught offguard by Foxkit and found himself stumbling to the side when she tripped him over. He fell to his side and quickly rolled to his feet, standing up straight and glaring over at her.

So, that's how it was going to be. Quickly, he ran towards her, ready for his attack, but when he was halfway there he realized he had no actual plan, and soon enough, he was almost right in front of him. With no options, but one, he jumped over her, quick as lightening in the sky.

Whoa. Uh. He turned around towards her, and again, without thinking, he swiped at her feet. What in StarClan was he doing?

He totally messed up...

Foxkit snickered. Kestrelkit's moves were slow and almost predictable. "C'mon! Stop staring into StarClan and fight!" she said tauntingly, easily dodging and spinning on her back feet, batting at his ears.

Ugh, he was not looking into StarClan. Well, this whole StarClan thing was enough to take his attention away, because in a second he was hit by her little paws. He hated it when others did that. Why'd they have to go for the face!? He backed out of her attack. Now what to do, now what to do. Er... something... standard? What was standard? Uh... A... swipe? With, what little mental time he had left, he jumped forward a little doing the little standard swipe that he could only think of now.

Foxkit felt a paw slide past her ear and instantly countered, throwing out her paw to strike his shoulder.

OOC:Muse lost...

Okay, now he had some type of idea of what he should do. Quickly he dodged her paw and jumped to the side. He bent down and slid under her, quickly standing up to push Foxkit up off the ground quickly, and probably roll... somewhere else. He might jab her in the stomach by accident or something, but... whatever.

Foxkit was pushed over to the side, and she quickly bunched her backlegs up to kick Kestrelkit away. "That's better!" she approved, eyes gleaming. "Show me what you're made of!"

Griffinpaw growled, "Come on Foxkit! You're far more capable than that!" he snarled at them.

Kestrelkit hoped to the side, barely dodging her feet. It was more of an accident than on purpose, he was just trying to turn around. His ear twitched as he heard Griffonpaw's voice from over at the boulder. Distracting... Annoying.... He reared up on his hind legs to bring them down on her head, trying to carry her to the ground. He didn't know what he was doing, it was more of an experimental thing really.

Foxkit squeaked as Kestrelkit's paws flew past her nose when she jerked backwards, eyes wide. She heard Griffonpaw's harsh... Encouragement, and felt anger pound through her veins. She leaped forwards several times, nipping at the tom's ears and paws and leaping away before he had time to react.

W-Wait, what just happened. Did she just attack him because it's all a blur now. She jumped forward again and again and... ergh. So, this was how it was going to be. He had to think of something, quick. But for having little to no experience on this stuff, he was doing pretty good. He leaped forward at Foxkit to... crash into her or something. He knew the main goal of fighting was to get the opponent on their back, but he didn't know why.

Griffinpaw decided to speak up again, try and help Kestrelkit. "Daze her! Hit her on the head, trip her, do something to knock her down!" he growled at the small kit.

Foxkit leaped away, just seconds before Kestrelkit hit the ground a mouse-whisker away from her. She twitched her ears at Griffonpaw's encouragement to the larger kit and jumped up, trying to land on Kestrelkit's shoulders. If he was trying to bowl her over... She'd just have to stay in the air for her attacks and get away before he got a chance to attack!

Kesrelkit laid on the ground and shook his head. Okay, that didn't work. He glared over at Griffonpaw when he gave his little help. "Shut up, Girffonpaw! What do you think I'm trying to do!" He growled at him, but next thing he knew there felt something on his back. Foxkit. You know, he probably could have dodged if Griffonpaw would have shut up! He stopped his growling and, the only thing he thought he could do, rolled over to try to get her off his back and onto the ground.

Griffinpaw almost smiled, anger usually helped in a fight. "Then do it!" he snarled, trying to push the kit further.

"Whoa!" Foxkit yelped, clearly not expecting Kestrelkit to roll. She was squished to the ground, tabby fur pressed into her face, sufficiently suffocating her. She struck out with her back legs in a sudden panic. What if she couldn't get out?

OOC: Oh, she's fine. XD She's such an overreactor.

With a good amount of irritation flowing through him, Kestrelkit rolled off of Foxkit, just as she started to kick with her paw. He growled and tried to puch her to the side a little so her paw wouldn't touch him and place on on her neck and the otherone on her flank to try to hold her down. It was the only thing he could think of at this time. He still didn't see the goal of getting cats on their backs.

Griffinpaw stood, possibly about to witness the end of the play fight, the irritated cat victor. "Show him what your made of Foxkit!" he yelled, he shouldn't play favorites, well, he didn't have favorites. He didn't really like either of them, it was his social skills, he's more like a rock while others a pretty little sunflowers. Ugh...Sunflowers... He thought. Foxkit and Kestrelkit had to put in their all if they wanted to get better.

Foxkit hissed and flipped over, not allowing Kestrelkit to pin her. All her instant-panic had turned to anger and frustration. She jumped up, flipped over in midair so that she looked like a sparrow gliding through the sky, and aimed to push against Kestrelkit's shoulder with her front paws outstretched. If successful, then she would focus her weight on her shoulders for an instant and flip over him before he fell.
