Exploring The Borders

"Thanks!" Berrypaw breathed. Unfortunatly, the thanks distracted her, so she got tripped by Raincloud. At first she was a bit frustrated that she got tripped, but she didn't let it last long. Then, Berrypaw sprang to her feet before running in a zigzag line toward Raincloud. Once she was close enough, Berrypaw leaped up, aiming so she would land on Raincloud's back.

OOC: Wait, isn't Raincloud on that foreign prey patrol thing?

ooc: this happened before the prey thing so it's a time skip.

Raincloud's knees buckled as she let out an oof. She jumped up into the air and turned so that she'd land on her back. Her strong legs, from swimming in the river so much, made it easier for her to jump even with the apprentice on her back.

Berrypaw squeaked with surprise and fear before she flew off her mentor's back. She landed with a thud a fox-length away from Raincloud. Suddenly, Berrypaw sprang to her feet and shook the dust off her fur before charging again towards Raincloud.

Raincloud decided not to land on her back and twisted back around, landing gracefully on her paws. She smiled to herself and turned toward Berrypaw, she saw her apprentice charging at her, but already decided that the assessment was over. So she moved to one side and called out to the she-cat, "You did very well Berrypaw, now let's begin the real training."

Berrypaw skidded to a halt. She spun around, surprised by her mentor's decision. "Really? Wasn't I learning something just now?" Berrypaw asked with a confused expression.

Rainpaw shook her head, "Not much. I'm a RiverClan cat, you see. And RiverClan cats don't fight each other, it's against the code. So I'm going to teach you how to fight the other Clans. Their techniques, weaknesses, and strengths." she tried to make it easier on Berrypaw so that she understood.

"Oh, alright," Berrypaw mewed. "So what are.......WindClan's weaknesses?" Berrypaw asked slowly, wondering what the clans' weaknesses would be.

Raincloud nodded, "Very good question. Let's see if you can answer it yourself. What is WindClan's main prey?" she asked, sitting down.

"Rabbits," Berrypaw answered quickly. She didn't quite know how this would find their weakness, though.

Raincloud nodded, "Right. And if they hunt rabbits, they need speed. So if they're speedy, what's they're weakness?" she asked.

"Umm........" Berrypaw thought, staring up at the sky, trying to think. "They always focus on speed, so they're not as strong?" Berrypaw questioned, thinking that she probably wasn't right, but it was her best guess.

Raincloud nodded, "Right. And since they're weaker, we can easily overpower them since RiverClan always has the strongest cats." she mewed. "Now what about ShadowClan?"

"They hunt frogs," Berrypaw answered quickly, happy that she got the last answer right.

"Among other things." she replied, "They pounce on their prey because there's not as much cover as there is here." Raincloud replied.




ooc: I forgot what SC's weakness was!

OOC: I'll look it up. It's probably online SOMEWHERE.

Berrypaw nodded, thinking hard about what ShadowClan's weakness was. She had to admit, ShadowClan didn't seem to have a weakness.

OOC: I CAN'T FIND IT! D< I guess they're well muscled, so they don't focus much on speed? idk.

ooc: Nah, in the books they said that RiverClan was slow. CRAP! XD

OOC: I don't really get it, but I'll try!

"Umm........" Berrypaw thought, squinting her eyes in concentration. This was hard! "Well......they......" Suddenly, it sparked for her. She wasn't sure if she was right, but she was sure she had an idea. "Well, they'e used to wet ground, so they would be better at moving silently on muddy ground because they have to hunt prey in mud. But what they might not be used to moving silently in is tall grass, so they might make a lot of noise before they attack, giving us the upper paw," Berrypaw finished eyes twinkling. This better be the right answer! She thought with hope and ambition.

OOC: Idk about her answer.....that's all I could come up with XD.

Raincloud thought for a moment, "I never thought of that, but yes, you're right. What I really mean is that they'll slip up in a fight, since they're in the tall grass. Keeping your balance is the most important thing you can do in a fight, but you can't if you don't keep your footing." she mewed.

"Oh," Berrypaw mewed quickly. She was glad that she had a right answer that her mentor didn't even think of.

OOC: Museless.

"Ok, how about ThunderClan, what is their weakness?" Raincloud asked, quickly thinking about the question in her head.


ooc: WHAT'S THE ANSWER TO THIS ONE?

OOC: I have no idea....maybe we should change the subject XD

"Um.....well.....they're not used to swimming like RiverClan cats are.....so if you puch them into a river or lake.....they'll just struggle and tire themselves out instead of swimming quickly to shore?" Berrypaw asked uneasily. Her paws were itching to get up and move, and she was dying to learn her first offical fighting move. She stared up at the sky covered with dark rainclouds being pushed by the wind. She wondered if it was sunny in another clan. She looked around the sky but she couldn't see any patches of blue that might indicate that the weather was nice somewhere.

Suddenly remembering she was in a lesson, Berrypaw jerked her head back towards her mentor and waited for her answer to her....um....answer.

OOC: I'm really tired and I probably made some kind of mistake, but whatever XP

ooc: yeah... maybe we should... any ideas? Throw something random into the thread. XD

Raincloud nodded, "Right. We have the elements on our side. Because of our thick, waterproof fur, we can overtake any other Clan when it comes to water or wind. They don't bother us as much."

OOC: Ummmm........I found a site with fighting moves....maybe Berrybutt could learn one of them http://www.freewebs.com/warriorcatsnow/ifighting.htm


"Yea!" Berrypaw breathed gladly, proud of herself for getting the answer right. She waved her tail happily in the air while staring at her mentor with excited, deep brown eyes.

OOC: I think her eyes are that color....

Raincloud grinned, chuckling for a brief moment. "Alright, alright. Calm down. Let's try fighting techniques now. First," she stood up, her great, fluffy tail hovering above the ground evenly. "The front paw blow." she mewed, her eyes now full of seriousness. "This is a move you'll use most often with your Clan-mates when you practice. Your claws are sheathed and all you do is swat them on the head." she let her paw swing through the air, hitting the ground dully.

Berrypaw's excitement died down somewhat as her mentor became serious. She narrowed her eyes and swung her paw at her mentor's head, hoping the blow would connect.
