Hunting(Open)

A vole busily nosed around the bank of the now raging river,nibbling at insects that sought refuge in the soaked moss while rain fell steadily around it. Flowerpetal crouched,her tabby pelt blending in with the muddy landscape as she watched her prey with wide eyes. She tensed,pouncing on the vole,claws unsheathed. The tiny animal squeaked in fear,and escaped her grasp. She pounced again,but her lame front leg slowed her down and the vole escaped down a hole in the ground. Flowerpetal hissed in frustration and paced along the water side,looking for another piece of prey to take back to the Clan. Her belly rumbled with hunger,and she ignored it as she had so often done. How come we get the least prey around here?she wondered,looking over the fields,with clumps of heather growing sparsely around the raging water.
