Hunting ((Open))

The silver she-cat smirked as she stalked a small mouse. Silverpelt watched it intently before pouncing, killing it with a claw to the throat. She buried it quickly and looked around, scenting the air.

Feralpelt walked through the forest. She wasn't hunting, she just didn't feel like being in camp. Now that they had that new cat, she felt as if she couldn't even be in there. It just felt so, different in there with the new cat coming in.

To her dismay, she saw her here hunting, Silverpelt. She narrowed her eyes in contempt. Ah, man.

Silverpelt scented Feralpelt nearby and she sighed. "I know you hate me. Just say it." She leaped at another scurrying critter and dispatched it quickly. "You don't want me here." she muttered as she buried her last catch.

"I hate you and I don't want you here," Feralpelt said with a shrug. She generally didn't like cats from outside the clan, especially loners. They were all stealers and liars and cheats. She didn't mind the DarkClan cats, though, she still didn't like them.

"I wish you'd just leave already," she growled.

The silver she-cat sighed and looked at Feralpelt. "I have one reason for being here, and that may change as time goes on." She anticipates a question and says, "And no, I'm not saying what that reason is."

"I already know why you're here. To eat up all our food. And as soon as your big and full you'll run off and probably tell the other clans all our secrets." Feralpelt was being a bit rash, but, she really didn't like this loner, a lot more than she didn't like other cats. She just hated her, hated her to the core. Not much could change her opinion, almost nothing could.

Silverpelt turned and hissed. "I don't care about the food! And I don't care if I learn the secrets, I really don't. What clan would listen to me even if I had a way to defeat you, hm?" She dug up her quota of mice and stormed back to the camp.

"Every single one of them," Feralpelt said back to Silverpelt before she walked deeper into the forest. That cat, she just rubbed her the wrong way. She didn't even know what it was that she didn't like about hr, she just knew she didn't.

A splash of dark gray moved in the forest. It was a cat. A long-furred tom with deep blue eyes that had a hollow quality to them. His fur was splotched with white patches that looked like clouds. Yep. He was Cloudfrost,warrior of ShadowClan. His name was painfully ironic. As the other loner that had come here had unhelpfully pointed out. "Cloudfrost because his eyes are cloudy and he is frosty to outsiders." He ignored the nagging voice in his head and concentrated on the hunt.

It was harder now. There was rain and snow mingling with the prey scent,and the thin layer of frost that covered the ground muffled the scents. Didn't help that he was blind.

Cloudfrost crouched low,feeling the mouse's heartbeat thrumming in his ear fur. His claws flashed out smoothly,and he tightened his back legs to pounce. He leaped,and felt soft fur brush his pad as he missed it by a little bit. He heard a soft,terrified squeak and the frantic scrabble of tiny paws as it ran.

He lunged after it,not knowing where he was going. He was so focused,he didn't notice the faint scent of a bramble up ahead and he stumbled as the thorny tendril wrapped around his paws. "Foxdung!"he cursed.

The mouse ducked into it's den,safe and sound. While Cloudfrost writhed on the ground just tail-lengths from his Clanmates. To be honest he didn't notice them.

Feralpelt turned her head as she heard the sound of irritated struggling. Not another loner, she though bitterly before she picked up speed and went over the the area.

She grinned when she saw Cloudfrost, his feet tangled in brambles. She gave out a laugh of amusement before walking over to him. "Need a hand?" She chuckled.

Oh no... Cloudfrost groaned,hearing Feralpelt's voice. He struggled more,feeling thorns bite his skin. "Whaddya think?"he muttered,his voice full of frustration and shame. Ugh...Feralpelt would make sure that the whole Clan knew about this...

"I would say yes." Feralpelt grabbed some of the bramble and biting through it, making it more lose, pulling on it a little to loosen it as well. "Sorry if the thorns poke you more," she said, the plant in her jaws. She was probably making them bore into his skin with her pulling, but she was just helping.

"Ouch,"Cloudfrost grunted,wincing. But he didn't complain anymore,determined to show he wasn't just a burden to the Clan and everyone in it. He flexed his paws,trying to break free.

Feralpelt gave the bramble another tug before she bit through it, giving Cloudfrost enough room to get out. "That should do it," she mewed.


NO MUSE

Cloudfrost jumped to his paws,feeling gratitude rush through him briefly. "Thanks..."he grumbled,lowering his head a little in embarrassment. "Sorry you had to get me out of that. I should have been more careful."

"No worries," Feralpelt mewed. "Anyone would have run into these things, I knew I would have while hunting." She was never the one to pay attention to her surroundings while hunting. "I'm just glad the snow isn't sticking yet. If it was these things would be invisible!"

"I know right?"Cloudfrost grumbled,shaking out his fur. "I missed a mouse because the scent wasn't clear enough. Much worse than the rain,if you ask me."

"Probably. This snow seems more distracting when it falls on your pelt than the rain does. It it'll be much harder to walk int hat mud when it gets thicker." Feralpelt sighed. She wasn't looking forward to this leafbare at all. The rain had taken away more than half of their food supply, and now it was snowing. More prey would be lost. She wasn't sure how they'd survive through this.

"I heard that Redstar's thinking about stealing prey."Cloudfrost mewed,shaking out his pelt some more.
