We're going on an ADVENTURE~ [Open]

Sparrowkit bounded out of the nursery, wanting to play. He hated being cooped up in the nursery, rain or not. And so far... well, it'd been rain. All day, every day. And that meant that the queens wanted him to stay inside the nursery at all times, or at least until the rain stopped. Yeah, right. He thought with a slight roll of the eyes. Like that's going to happen.

He glanced around, looking for someone to bother. He could only see about three foxlengths in every direction, and the rain was starting to soak his fur. Shaking it off, he narrowed his eyes and peered into the fog. The young tom, his brownish fur now almost black from the water, leapt forward. And proceeded to slip and fall, skidding across the slippery camp ground and crashing into something solid.

Celestialpaw, the new apprentice, wadded through the fog and rain. It had been at it all day. The wet, frigid stuff pelted down the camp relentlessly. She was a snowy white light in the gloom, a light in the dark stormy waters. Too bad she couldn't honestly feel that way. This weather always kept her dreary and down. She noticed the utter density of the thick blanket isolating her from almost every cat in camp and took note of the muted cat's voices in a few directions. The sound of it made her feel underwater. It was surreal and frustrating at the same time.

Just as the she-cat was about to turn around and retreat to the Apprentice's den, a small mound of fur crash-landed into her. She nearly toppled over with the impact. She must look mighty frightening, red eyes flashing and now grey-dappled pelt starting to blend in to her surroundings. The light effect was finito. She held the gaze of the kit, waiting to see what he would do.

Sparrowkit lay on the soaked ground, winded, as he felt the blazing red gaze of Celestialpaw burning into his fur. Slowly, he looked up. And nearly screeched.

The young she-cat apprentice's fur was soaked to the point where it blended in with the fog and rain around her, so the only things visible about her were her angry scarlet eyes and flecks of white-grey fur around them. Sparrowkit flattened his ears against his skull. "Sorry." the kit mumbled. "But it isn't my fault the floor is so slippery!" He added, trying to hold the older cat's gaze shakily. What have you gotten yourself into now? He moaned inwardly.

After several attempts, Specklekit had finally found her way out of the nursery. She skidded across the clearing towards a blurry black-ish shape Sparrowkit will never see me coming, she though.

Specklekit stalked silently forward. Her gray dappled pelt was only a shade darker than the fog. You can't escape. She prepared to pounce on the other kit's tail, but her back paws slipped. She smacked right into Sparrowkit and fell on her face.

Ootterkit tumbbled from the nurcery, sat up and streaked over next to Sparrowkit, aiming a semi-gentle slap on his ear. "Heya!"

Sparrowkit turned around, glad for the distraction from Celestialpaw. "Specklekit? And..." He squinted, unable to make out the second form. "Is that Otterkit? Or..." His tone was distracted, and his fur still crawled, more from the glare of the nearly invisible apprentice than from the rain that was soon going to penetrate his fur and freeze his skin.

Otterkit poked Sparrowkit, staring. "You OK?"

"Huh?" he said, waking up from his daze as he was prodded, only making the water seep into his fur even faster. He shook of the rain water again, only to have it replenished in a matter of seconds. Sparrowkit padded a few foxlengths away and motioned with his tail for Otterkit and Specklekit to follow, desperate to get away from the albino apprentice. I'm doomed, I'm doomed, I'm doomed...

Celestialpaw had an amused, crooked grin on her white face, eyes boring into Sparrowkit purposefully. It would scare the kit enough not to slam into her in the future. She was quite surprised that only the little Sparrow had been filled with horror. She watched as the trio walked into the dense fog, away from her and her eyes. Her ear involuntarily twitched and Celestialpaw shrugged. She could care less what the kits were up to. However...

As a second thought, the she-cat meowed called after them, an echo in the downpour and with a tone that was flat. It was a warning, not anything more or anything warm. "The fog can lead to nasty situations. Scary things lurk in the darkness of it all." Oops, that last line sounded just a tad bit full of foreboding. Oh well. They could take it was they will.

Sparrowkit stiffened. No more elders' tales for you late at night, Sparrowkit. He thought. Just a few nights ago he'd overheard a story about a kit snatcher that lived in the forest, stealing unwary kits in dense fogs and when they strayed too far from their mothers. That story was a pile of fox dung, but at the moment he almost jumped out of his fur.

"Just you wait, Celestialpaw. I'll get you back one day."

Celestialpaw cocked her head in amusement. It's not the she-cat was mean or anything, just a practical observer who wasn't outgoing in the slightest. Sparrowkit looked terrified and Celestailpaw nearly felt a wave of self-pity. She choked it back. She refused to pity herself in the slightest. Her reponse to the kit was simple, "Mhm," and a wave of her fluffy tail, now drooping under the weight of the soppy water clinging to it. Who was that cats mother anyways?

OOC: Little does Sparrow know the kit snatcher was Icetail... the NightClanner borne in RiverClan... *Snickers darkly*

OOC: O_O And then he'll see Icetail... but he'll think it is Celestialpaw again... AND HE'LL BE DOOMED-ED.

OOC: But Icey's dead. o.o He has been ever since he snatched/tortured/killed a kit and was hit by a monster on the way to putting it on the RiverClan/WindClan border. XD

OOC: ... that might be a problem. XD Well Icey can come back from... NightClan... or wherever he is and haunt Sparrow. ;D

Waterstorm emerged from the Warrior's den, and glared around the clearing. He saw a small group of kits, that looked like it was growing rapidly, one after the other coming out of the nursery. "I wonder why they're all outside, I figure it'll only be more work for the medicine cat, curing these kits of colds." He thought to himself, approaching the group. "What are you all doing out here in the middle of the rain?" He asked, tilting his head slightly in a questioning manner.

"We're bored," mewed Specklekit. "There's nothing to do in the nursery." Her tail twitched. "Please play with us."She looked up pleadingly.

Sparrowkit turned to Waterstorm. He was opening his mouth to reply when Specklekit decided she would speak up. As she pleaded with the older tom, Sparrowkit nodded. "I hate being cooped up in there all day. Nothing but cats fussing over you. Are you too cold? Are you too hot? Did you sleep enough? Blah, blah, blah..." He shuddered dramatically. "It's a nightmare in there."
