Rematch

Goldenstorm stood out in the heathery field, looking out into the horizon, surrounded by falling rain and smoke colored clouds. He sighed, wishing something would cheer him up.

Mintleaf spotted Goldenstorm off a little ways. She started a quiet trot towards him, trying to be sneaky. When she was closer she dropped down and started stalking towards him. Then when she was about a fox length behind him she pushed off and leapt at him.

Goldenstorm heard it, right at the last moment, he heard it. He tried to roll away, but he felt Mintleaf's shoulder push against him and he was shoved to the ground. "Hey!" he looked to see Mintleaf, any alarm in his mind lost.

Mintleaf laughed, "Got cha!" She slid off of him and boasted, "I'm still the best!"

Liontail padded over to his fellow warriors. He looked around to see if he could make out Coalpaw, but the apprentice must be busy somewhere else. "Hey, whats up?", he meowed. He eyed Mintleaf. Once, this cat was his love, but now, there's a big secret sourrinding him when it goes to love terms...

Mintleaf looked at Liontail and replied, "Hey Liontail, I'm just showing Goldenstorm over who's the boss." She laughed at her own joke and playfully prodded Goldenstorm.

Goldenstorm stood up, shaking his fur lightly. "Yeah right. I could take you any day." he boasted, holding his head high and his legs stretched out just a bit . His tail hovered the ground as he smiled menacingly, "Call me cocky, but I know I could."

"Hey hey, spare your engery for hunting. The clan is hungry with all the rain. The prey hasn't returned yet, even now that's Newleaf.", he meowed and brushed his suuper fluffy tail to three times its original size.
"But, you know.", he added. "The real boss is sitting in front of you. But I think you already know that." He smiled challengenly at his friends.

Mintleaf scoffed, "Uh huh. Just keep telling yourselves that. Soon you'll have to wake up though!" She smiled back but it was more a cocky smirk.

Goldenstorm took his chance, he bunched up his muscles and sprang at Mintleaf. His claws sheathed, he ignored the small twinge of pain he recieved in his belly, a constant reminder of the spar he had with his own parents. He smiled as he leaped through empty space, the wind rushing through his soggy fur.

Mintleaf watched as Goldenstorm leapt at her. She slouched forward and sprang forward when he was almost on top of her. She even felt some of his fur brush her own. She slid her feet around to face towards him and struck out with one of her forepaws at his hindlegs to try and knock him off balance.

Goldenstorm felt his hindleg get caught by Mintleaf's paw. He ended up rolling onto the grassy, but he pushed his weight forward and rolled onto his paws. "That the best you got?" he smiled, teasing her in a playful way.

Mintleaf teased back, "I'm just warming up!" She dashed forward, charging at him. She slid across a patch of mud and picked up even more speed but lost some control. She ducked her head back and thrust forward her shoulders and angled in for a crash.

Goldenstorm leaped straight into the air, leanign forward a bit. He struck out his legs, hopefully landing on her back as Mintleaf charged under him.

Mintleaf felt Goldenstorm's weight begin to fall on her. She thrashed, hoping he wouldn't get on enough to pin her.

Goldenstorm started to loose his footing on Mintleaf's back, he instinctively began to unsheathe his claws, but he remembered this was only a play-fight, nothing real, and pulled them back in.
He was just about to tumble when he leaped off of her gently and landed just behind her. "You look like your overheating!" he joked at her, having plenty of fun through all of this.

She retored, "Yeah right!" Then she bunched up her muscles and struck out backwards at Goldenstorm, streching out to her full length.

Liontail sighed. Those two, always playfighting like kits. Where the hell was Coalpaw? He could watch them, they're using many moves. "Coalpaw?", he mewed and looked around for his apprentice. To his friends he mewed. "Just continue, I'll get my apprentice to watch you. If you must fight, than do it infront of him, maybe he'll learn something."

"Alright!" Goldenstorm called, his rump getting kicked by Mintleaf's legs. He fell to the ground and pushed himself under Mintleaf's belly. He rolled over onto his back and pushed his paws up.

Mintleaf left out an "oof" as she was pushed up into the air. Though she only went straight up and aimed to land on Goldenstorm's back.

It was too bad that Goldenstorm wasn't on his belly, he was still laying on his back and he knew that Mintleaf was coming back down. He stretched his paws out, waiting for her to fall upon them. When he thought the time was right, he reached them out, hoping to catch her shoulder and withers with his paws wrapped around them. He would push his wieght up, and pull on whatever he had in his paws, and flip onto his paws. If he did this right, he'd have Mintleaf pinned to the ground, her belly showing, and Goldenstorm would be right on top of her, holding her down.

Mintleaf saw Goldenstorm outstrech his paws, waiting for her to fall back on him. She twisted midair and tried to aim herself where she'd fall on his legs and pin them to the ground. But it was a risky move and if she was even a fraction off she'd be left wide open.

Goldenstorm noticed Mintleaf's try to counter his counter. He almost laughed, this was fun. He kept his forepaws stretched out as far as they could go, but he lowered his hindlegs just a bit, about half way. If he could get Mintleaf to land on his paws just right, he could flip her just the way he planned, but he didn't know how he would follow her.

Mintleaf saw the slight shift in Goldenstorm's hindlegs. It was too late to adjust to the change. Instead she tensed her muscles waiting for another counterstrike.

Goldenstorm felt his front paws meet Mintleaf's and pushed up with his hind-legs, hopefully, he'd get her to flip. He wasn't sure what he would do, maybe he'd jump and try to pin her down. But he didn't think he was fast enough, he didn't think wind itself was fast enough to do that, unless Mintleaf was stunned. But this wasn't an actual spar, this was a play-fight, they were supposed to have fun. He knew getting stunned was fun at all. He lessed the power on his hindlegs so she would land softly, if she at all landed on her back.
