Finding Family

"I'm not leaving without Goldenstorm!" Vixenstep howled back, wincing as claws raked her fur. But she stood stock still. If they killed her, fine. But she wouldn't leave him alone with them. She couldn't bear it if he died.

Goldenstorm struggled to prop one of his paws up so that he was half laying, half sitting. "Go Vixenstep." he meowed, his mew broken up and straining, but he knew the words could be made out clearly.

"But," she protested. "They could kill you!"

"I think you should listen to him," Cody growled. He unsheathed his claws and stepped forward. She was dead if she made a move. Either that or she'd lose a limb. The more she protested the harder his 'persuasion' for her to leave would be.

"Cody," Myth hissed warningly, "I'll help you take your prissy friend back to the clan, but I am only going half the way, you can then find a patrol to help you." She turned back to speak to Cody, "I'm only doing this so that they will be gone." She growled as she turned back to face the warrior kits.

Goldenstorm struggled to his paws, he tried his best to look fierce, or at least bold. He looked hard at Vixenstep, "Go. I'm not letting you get sucked into this." he mewed harshly. He turned his head to Myth, "But I'm not leaving until I have some answers or I'm dead." he growled. Pain wavered back and forth on his shoulder and he could no longer feel anything on his belly.

Vixenstep looked at Goldenstorm through pleading eyes but saw his determination. She dipped her head. "I'll be waiting for you at camp,"

Goldenstorm forced himself to smile, "Thank you." he mewed softly, almost too quiet to hear. He looked at Myth with rock hard eyes, no emotion in his face as he waited for her to say something.

She reluctantly turned away, feeling her heart break. "If you don't come back by moonrise I'm coming back for you." she added over her shoulder, amber eyes warm with affection yet broken somehow. Then she started over the moor, shoulders tense and tail dragging the ground.

OOC: I don't really care, as long as they don't jump in with annoying "heroics" or crazy problems and ruin everything or turn the subject completely off course. =/

Cody stepped back from Vixenstep. If Myth didn't want him to do it, then he wouldn't. He would stay idle by while she did what she wanted, how she wanted, only stepping in when things got out of control. So he sat in silence as he watched Vixenstep go, and turned his attention back to Goldenstorm, the tom he loathed the most.

Goldenstorm breathed in and out deeply, barely blinking as released his muscles. He kept his eyes on Myth, but he took in that Cody was sitting down, claws sheathed. It seemed as if things were finally cooling down.

Watertail was hunting out in the forest. his haunches down and his ears pricked, he stalked around for a scent. moments later, he heard a rustling in the bushes beside him. Since he was upwind he had the advantage, he stopped moving and waited. A mouse scuttled out of the bramble. Watertail had an excellent chance, so he rushed forward, jumping out at the mouse, pinning it down, then quickly nipping it in the neck. He thanked starclan for the easy kill.

Watertail buried the mouse so he could come back later for it. He started walking, until eventually, he heard other cats mewing in the distance. It sounded like something was up. Watertail forgot about the mouse, and ran towards the sound. When he got closer, he recongized the voice of his former apprentice, Goldenstorm. Watertail came out behind him, there were also other cats in the area. Goldenstorm was tense. "What's happening?" demanded Watertail.

Myth knew there was a cat even before the idiot cat spoke. She leapt at the obviously older warrior and aimed to rake her claws down his side.

"No!" Goldenstorm lunged, landing poorly. He stood beside Myth, his paw above her, claws stretched out. "He's not involved in this." he mewed strongly.
Goldenstorm whipped his head towards Watertail, "This is not a good time for catching up Watertail." he growled, trying to let him know that he should get away, now.

One of the strange cats lept at Watertail. Watertail ducked and darting forward, but the other cats claws still caught his back, making a fair cut. Watertail turned and yowled "Are you crazy?" He got in a warriors position and kept his distance to the other cat, glaring. "I get that, Goldenstorm" Watertail growled, acknowledging his comment.

Not listening to Goldenstorm the cat that claimed to be his son. She bowled her way at the new comer, right into his exposed belly. It was almost an impossible leap to dodge.

Goldenstorm was almost frozen, until something in his mind clicked and he charged at Watertail, trying to get him out of the way. "Run!" he yowled at his former mentor.

The cat charge into Watertail's belly, ramming him over, just as Goldenstorm yowled for him. Watertail was going to say something, but he was too winded. He tried to get up, but the cat held him down.

"Get off him!" Goldenstorm growled as he nudged Myth hard. "He's done no harm!" he snarled at his 'mother'. He swung his paw out and he felt his claws slide out of their hiding places. He wondered what he hit.

Oblivious to the pain Goldenstorm had caused, Myth began to rake her sharp claws down the cats side. What a feeble excuse for a warrior! She swiped at Goldenstorms nose. That will teach him to mess with me!

When the cat swung at his former apprentice, she shifted her weight so Watertail could get up and then he backed away. "What did I ever do to you, or for that matter, what did anyone ever do to you?" Watertail was still in lots of pain though, his voice cracked, and his breath came in gasps. If the cat attacked him he wouldn't last long.

"You came near this stupid place, stuck your nose into anothers business. I don't like cats like you. Nosy, can't you just stay away. We aren't even on your territory. Why did either of you come here?" Myth sneered.
